How Moat Wire handles your information.

Moat Wire uses information to operate this publication, deliver requested email, and protect the newsroom.

What is stored

Subscription forms store your email, consent time, placement, and confirmation status. Staff accounts use an essential HTTP-only session cookie. This publication does not create public reader accounts or set advertising cookies.

What happens to email

Resend processes newsletter delivery and delivery-status events. Supabase stores subscription and editorial records, and Cloudflare hosts the publication. Confirmation and unsubscribe links use hashed, purpose-bound tokens. We send editions only after you confirm your subscription.

Your measurement choice

Optional usage measurement is off by default. If you allow it, a random browser identifier helps us count visits and returning readers. We record page paths and performance, never your email, IP address, search text, or subscription tokens. Your identifier stays in this browser until you turn measurement off or clear site data. Raw usage events are retained for up to 90 days.

Optional usage measurement is off.

Access and control

Subscriber records are restricted to the owner role. Use the unsubscribe link in an edition to stop future emails.

Operational records

The system records publication changes and job failures for reliability. Outbound click records contain the selected article and time, with no reader identifier. Form rate limits use an expiring hash. Optional reader analytics require consent, and raw reader activity expires after 90 days. Unsubscribe and suppression records prevent further deliveries to addresses that have opted out or bounced.
