Mistral opened a public API preview of Large 4 on October 6. The company describes a multimodal model with one trillion total parameters and 52 billion active parameters, trained on its European infrastructure. It plans to release the weights by the end of October; that release had not occurred at the announcement.
Cloudflare introduced Web Search API access through AI Gateway with Ceramic.ai, Exa and Linkup. Developers can retrieve current web information alongside model requests rather than relying only on a model’s stored knowledge. Search requests integrate with gateway logging, billing and access controls.

The managed service combines indexing and retrieval components for applications and websites. Billing is scheduled to begin November 1, with a free tier retained across Workers plans.
Cloudflare released Auto Router in public beta through AI Gateway. It chooses a model for each request to balance task requirements and inference cost. Cloudflare reports savings in its own testing, but those results depend on the workload and do not guarantee equivalent performance or savings for every application.
Mistral announced a €3 billion Series D at a post-money valuation above €21 billion. Samsung Electronics led the financing, joined by co-leads Scaleup Europe Fund and PSG Equity. The company says the capital will expand compute capacity, infrastructure and commercial operations as it develops its open-weight AI offering.
